Prologue to Love Chronicles
Between the rise and fall of a person's life comes a time
when there is neither rising nor falling.
The exhilarating thrust rushing the arching steps ever higher,
the entropic shove plummeting the grasping form into oblivion,
dwell, juxtaposed, within the shadows of fatalistic acquiescence.
This natural tragedy is no more evident
than in the unnatural comedy of human relationships.
Indeed, it is in this dearest arena
where the ageless immortal combat is engaged, again and again,
that the victor possesses no victory and the vanquished admits no defeat.
For, even as each loss is total and the body count casualties inclusive,
the game resets for each to play again –
until the loving life force inertia of every player, inescapably,
slows and stalls…
Here, this point – is out of sync, at the abyss.
